If you do not take corrective action and a collision is imminent, the brakes can automatically apply.

While you’re driving slowly near parking spots, activate this available feature and your Transit Connect will scan for an available opening. Ultrasonic sensors measure your distance from parked vehicles and, once an appropriate spot is identified, you’re signaled to stop and accept the system’s assistance. With a few actions on your part – shifting, accelerating and braking – the vehicle can smoothly parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space.
